Most likely
a lot of crap, but
possibly ... a method to create
an extra Caturday
every week! That's right, an 8-day week, with 5 workdays and 3 (
three) Caturdays.
Because it can be done.
You will need...
- a weekend
- no serious plans for Saturday, but Sunday is ok
- to be home around 18:00-19:00 Friday, and relaxed enough to sleep at 20:00
- a nice job where you can wake up Monday 08:00 and still be on time
The weekend is, in total...
| remains of Friday from 20:00 on | 4h |
| Saturday | 24h |
| Sunday | 24h |
| start of Monday, before wake-up call | 8h |
| grand total | 60h |
If you divide it like this... (
bold = wake,
italic = sleep)
...i.e. starting and ending the 60-hour period with sleep, it's
interesting to see there are in fact
3 days/wake-periods now. So:
+-------------------+
| |
| 18:00 arrive home |
| |
| 20:00 go to bed |
Friday | |
---------|-------------------| (7 hours of sleep)
Saturday | |
| 03:00 wake up | +------------------------+
| | | |
| | | (11 hours of waking) |
| | | |
| 14:00 go to bed | +------------------------+
| |
| | (6 hours of sleep)
| |
| 20:00 wake up | +------------------------+
Saturday | | | |
---------|-------------------| | (11 hours of waking) |
Sunday | | | |
| 07:00 go to bed | +------------------------+
| |
| | (5 hours of sleep)
| |
| 12:00 wake up | +------------------------+
| | | |
| | | (10 hours of waking) |
| | | |
| 22:00 go to bed | +------------------------+
Sunday | |
---------|-------------------| (10 hours of sleep)
Monday | |
| 08:00 wake up |
| |
+-------------------+
Considerations taken:
- sleep period is steadily decreased down to 5h
- must end with 10 hours sleep (because I like this - YMMV)
- 10 hours is long enough to be experienced as a 'day'; consider e.g. a 11:00-21:00 weekend day; it counts as one
Some things are the same, some things are radically different. You might
plan in advance to make this work for you.
For reference, compare to a normal weekend day, let's say from
10:00 until 23:00 (13 hours), with 17:00 as '
halfway marker'. This may
help you to imagine what wall-clock times mean in terms of experience:
halfway-marker is at 09:00. This is odd, and would mean...
- you wake up when it's not yet light; it would get light around 14:00, according to instinct
- your day is half gone (17:00 according to instinct) when the rest of the world wakes up
- you can shop and expect to find a full crowd until 23:00 at night, according to instinct
- you'll be going to bed when it's most bright outside
halfway-marker is at 02:00. This is
extremely odd, and would mean...
- you wake up when it's getting dark, and it would be dark the whole day long (think 'polar night!')
- your day is half gone (17:00 according to instinct) when everything's already quiet; this might stimulate sleep during mid-day
- you cannot shop at all this day; however, you can have pizza/fries for breakfast!
- you'll be going to bed watching the sun come up
halfway-marker is at 17:00, just like a normal weekend day. No comment.
